Today Starts the Epcot Food & Wine Festival. Are you ready? No? That’s ok. I’ve tried to collect all the important bits, links, and pdfs here for your enjoyment.
First all the “official” stuff:
- Disney’s official Epcot Food & Wine Festival page
- Festival Welcome Center
- Party for the Senses
- 3D Disney’s Dessert Discovery
- Culinary Demonstrations
- Mixology Seminars
- Wine/Beverage Seminars
Already in the parks and want to bring a little tech into your Food & Wine? Disney ahs released a Mobile app that shows menus, prices, allows you to share via Facebook and Twitter, even mark foods as favorites for later recall. A nice run down of the app is over at Inside the Magic. Did I mention the “mobile app” is free?
If you visited the official Food & Wine site you might notice the huge “TASTE & TWEET’ message, with all the flags underneath. The mobile app Disney I mentioned above streams those tweets over to that page by country. Apparently according to Inside The Magic, the tweets are showing up on the tip board in the park.
Don’t want to wait to have to get to EPCOT to try all this food? Inside the Magic has compiled a bunch of the “learn to make” videos Disney has released. There’s – Apple Strudel, California Sushi Roll, Grilled Lamb Chops, Jamaican Jerk Chicken, Pot Stickers, Shrimp Taco, and Strawberry Martini… delicious.
I posted some planning tips and checklist for Food and Wine a while back. Check out the blog post here and grab a PDF of the Food and Wine Festival menus.
Speaking of PDFs, the Disney food blog has a lot of them, not to mention menus, breakdowns, pictures, videos and more. Check out all their coverage by clicking on the following:
- Disney Food Blog’s 2011 Epcot Food & Wine Festival Overview Page
- 2011 Epcot Food and Wine Festival World Showcase Booth Menus and Guide Map
- 2011 Epcot Food and Wine Festival Special Events
- 2011 Epcot Food & Wine Festival Low-Cost/Free Seminars and Activities
- How to Book events
- 2011 Eat to the Beat Concert Schedule
- Wine and Dine Half Marathon Weekend Events
Also happening this first week (Oct 2nd – 8th) of Food & Wine is the Disney Food Blog 2011 WDW Foodie Fest. Events will be located in and around Epcot throughout the week. See details for individual events in their Schedule of Events. The Main Event on Sunday will be held at Ariel’s Restaurant at Disney’s Beach Club Resort, but events happen all week-long.
I’ll be heading down tomorrow morning, so hopefully I’ll be able to post updates, pictures, and reviews for the Food & Wine festival. It’ll all be over on my personal blog, Imagination Window, or over on my FaceBook page,so as not to muck up this more, uhm… “professional?” one with tons of personal pics. Stay tuned.
